City of OKC offices closed May 25 for Memorial Day

Memorial Day (Monday, May 25): Trash and recycling pick up is delayed. Make-up day is Wednesday, May 27. OKC Parks recreation centers, community centers, gyms, family aquatic centers and the Will Rogers Senior Center are closed.

Bulky trash schedule to change for 64,000 OKC customers on March 1

To keep impacted customers informed, the City mailed postcards listing their first three new collection dates and created an interactive, color-coded “Bulky Collection Changes” map at okc.gov/MyTrashDay.

OKC Utilities crews repairing 20-inch water main break on Memorial

Officials anticipate repair work being completed by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11. Lane closures are expected to remain in place after the water main is repaired to allow for necessary roadway restoration.

Water main break impacts traffic on Northwest 23rd near Harvey Avenue

Lane closures are in place for all westbound lanes of NW 23rd between Harvey and Hudson. Drivers traveling west on 23rd at Harvey will need to detour.

Water main break impacts traffic at NW 39th and MacArthur

Oklahoma City Utilities crews are working a 12-inch water main break on MacArthur Avenue at Northwest 39th Street. Southbound traffic on MacArthur is limited to turning east or west only onto 39th Street. Drivers who need to go south on MacArthur at 39th will need to detour.

OKC moves Tuesday trash and recycling collection to Saturday, Jan. 31

Due to anticipated poor road conditions, the Oklahoma City Utilities Department has moved Tuesday, Jan. 27, trash and recycling collection to Saturday, Jan. 31. In the interest of safety, the adjustment allows collection drivers to avoid the numerous miles of residential and neighborhood streets that are snow-covered and slick.

Once the temperature does, crews will begin spreading salt. The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management is asking residents and business owners affected by the winter storms to report online at damage.ok.gov.

Public Works crews are salting and plowing along OKC snow routes in 12-hour shifts around the clock until street conditions improve. Due to anticipated road conditions, trash and recycling collection for Monday, Jan. 26, has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Jan. 28.
