City Council Oklahoma City is divided into eight geographical areas called Wards. The voters in each Ward elect a Council member to represent them, and all City voters elect the Mayor. The eight Council members and the Mayor form the nine-member Oklahoma City Council.
David Holt Mayor David Holt became Oklahoma City’s 38th mayor in 2018. He was elected in 2018 with 78.5 percent of the vote, the largest percentage achieved by a non-incumbent since 1947. In 2022, he was re-elected with more votes than any candidate for Mayor since 1959.
Elections The Mayor and Council are elected for 4-year terms. The Mayor is elected in even-numbered years, every fourth year. Council is elected in odd-numbered years. Oklahoma City holds non-partisan elections and there are no term limits.
