Holiday Trash Schedule

Holiday Make-Up Days

Certain holidays may impact when your regular trash or recycling is collected. Check to see if you may experience a trash or recycling collection delay using the chart below.

Dates are determined annually based upon the City's calander of observed holidays. Please note that some City-observed holidays may not reflect the actual holiday date.

For holidays that fall on a weekend, the City observes the holiday either the Friday before or Monday following the holiday.

For your complete trash, recycling and bulky waste schedule, look on your most recent OKC Utilities bill, visit okcutilities.com, or see our My Trash Day page.

Note: Bulky waste service does not change due to the holiday calendar.

Lead-Safe OKC

Taking action to reduce risk and keep our community safe

Lead-Safe OKC is a program by the Oklahoma City Utilities Department to ensure the safety and compliance of the City's water system under the EPA's lead and copper requirements. The program focuses on identifying, managing and reducing potential lead exposure through a comprehensive service line inventorypublic outreach and ongoing monitoring.

If present, elevated levels of lead can cause serious health problems, especially for pregnant women and young children. Lead in drinking water is primarily from materials and components associated with service lines and a building's internal plumbing.

Under Oklahoma law, and the City’s Municipal Code, the City is responsible for the public side of the service line and the property owner is responsible for the private side of the service line.

What are we doing to help?

As the state’s largest drinking water provider, we do the following to reduce the risk of lead exposure in drinking water.

Verify Material
Conducting verification of service line materials, including physical pipe inspections.

Inform Customers
Sharing inventory results and guidance on next steps.

Reduce Lead
Executing projects to eliminate lead lines and procedures to reduce the likelihood of lead in drinking water.

Educate Public
Providing the Lead-Safe Community Database and informative materials to educate the public.

HOA and Neighborhood Sprinkler Checkups

Don't let over-watering run up your neighborhood bill. Learn about irrigation basics from a member of our water conservation team. We offer free sprinkler checkups for Neighborhood and Homeowner's Association common areas and entryways that use Oklahoma City water. Program staff will run through each sprinkler zone and help identify problems that may be costing you money. For HOA- or neighborhood-maintained properties only, not individual residences. Schedule your sprinkler checkup!
