OKC is committed to serving all people. City employees, including police officers and firefighters, focus on their core responsibilities to provide essential services. City employees do not ask about immigration status when providing services. This ensures everyone can:• Access City services• Call for help in emergencies• Report crimes and cooperate with OKCPD• Live and work in the community
Our Wastewater Quality team serves more than one million people and treats more than 60 million gallons of wastewater each day. That means what goes down your toilet, sink, dishwasher, shower or drain comes to one of our four wastewater treatment plants to be filtered, disinfected, sanitized and then discharged into local waterways as EPA Grade B wastewater.
Don't dump just anything down your drain or toilet. Project your pipes by keeping fats, oils and grease (aka FOG) from going down your drain and don't flush wipes or put any item other than regular toilet paper down your toilet.
In addition to residential education, we also run commercial and industrial pretreatment programs, where we assist food service facilities, medical, automotive, medical marijuana facilities and industrial manufacturers to ensure they're disposing of their waste properly so it doesn't enter the sewer system.
