Free Landfill Day
The City offers two free landfill days each year for residential solid waste customers. They typically take place in May and September each year.
The next Free Landfill Day will take place September 13, 2025.

(N.E. 36, east of Sooner Road, south side of street)
• Oklahoma City Landfill – 7001 S. Bryant
• Oklahoma Landfill – 7600 SW 15
• GFL Landfill – 2601 N. Midwest Boulevard, Spencer, Okla.
(construction and demolition materials only)
Who can participate? Oklahoma City trash customers who have an active Utilities account for trash collection services with the City of Oklahoma City. People who live outside of the Oklahoma City limits or who are not a City of Oklahoma City trash and recycling customer are not eligible.
Do I have to show an ID? All customers must present an original current Oklahoma City trash bill, or show proof of account using the My OKC Utilities app on their smartphone. If you live in a rental house and your trash bill is paid by your landlord, you may participate in Free Landfill Day but must ask your landlord for a copy of a OKC Utilities bill showing trash services, and you must also provide an ID with an address that matches the address on the bill.
What is accepted? Regular household trash, furniture, appliances, bagged leaves and landscape waste, and other acceptable bulky items. Please note that Northeast Landfill only accepts construction and demolition debris, including drywall, rocks, bricks and concrete.
What is not accepted: household hazardous waste, tires, oils, automotive parts, pool chemicals, automotive parts, car batteries, propane tanks, electronic waste and appliances containing Freon or other refrigerants are not accepted. Call Utilities Customer Service at (405) 297-2833 to arrange for special appliance pick-up for items with Freon or other refrigerants.
How much can I take?
Each residential household may drop off one load using a passenger vehicle or truck up to a 1-ton and one trailer up to 16-feet long. Commercial waste haulers are not allowed.
