Transfer Program

OKC Animal Welfare works with more than a hundred 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal organizations to transfer animals from our care to their programs. Thousands of local homeless animals have found important care and new families through our transfer program.

If your organization is interested in becoming one of our transfer partners and have additional questions about how our transfer program works, please contact us at awtransfers@okc.gov. OKCAW only works with other municipal animal shelters and 501(c)(3) nonprofits as transfer partners.

Before completing your transfer partner application, please make sure to have a copy of your 501(c)(3) status confirmation letter ready for submission. When you are ready to apply for becoming a transfer partner, click the link below to submit your application. Once we receive your application, it may take 24-72 hours to approve. Once approved as a partner, we will send you additional information about how to join our Facebook network to follow animals in need and what procedures are for placing transfer commitments on animals.
