Stockyards City Urban Design District

The Stockyards City Development District and Stockyards City Transitional Overlay District includes Stockyards City, home to the world's largest stocker/feeder cattle market.

Effective July 18, 2025, fees for certain application types will increase. See the relevant City Council item for more information and the adopted change in fees.

The Urban Design Commission and staff review review new construction and expansions or alternations of building exteriors within the Stockyards City Development and Transitional Overlay Districts. The Commission also reviews proposals for demolition, murals, Planned Unit Developments, subdivisions and City projects like parks, monuments, public art, landmarks and bridges within the district, and issue or deny Certificates of Approval based on their findings. Decisions may be appealed to the Board of Adjustment.
