OKC is committed to serving all people. City employees, including police officers and firefighters, focus on their core responsibilities to provide essential services. City employees do not ask about immigration status when providing services. This ensures everyone can:• Access City services• Call for help in emergencies• Report crimes and cooperate with OKCPD• Live and work in the community
Oklahoma City hopes to create new job opportunities for OKC residents by promoting expansion of existing businesses and recruiting new business.
The City partners with the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber and the Alliance for Economic Development of Oklahoma City to accomplish this goal. The City’s Economic Development Trust reviews proposed projects and enters into long-term agreements with businesses wanting to take advantage of job creation incentives.
OKC also promotes community development through our tax increment financing (TIF) districts. Authorized by state statutes and the Oklahoma Constitution, TIF districts are instrumental in promoting ambitious and transformative redevelopment projects.
