Prequalification Requirements for Contractors and Subcontractors
Contractors and subcontractors must undergo a prequalification process for projects involving:
- Public construction contracts
- Private improvements that may transition to public property
- Work on public property or within the right-of-way
Please note that any work obstructing street or sidewalk access is deemed unauthorized until all necessary permits have been secured. Additionally, work zone permits should be submitted at least two full workdays prior to the request.
The prequalification and permitting process is done through an easy-access portal.
The Standard Specifications for Construction of Public Improvements have been amended and revised to reflect changes in State Statutes and City policies. Sections 700, 800 and 900 of the Standards have updated the materials and construction standards to meet current best practices; consolidate the City of Oklahoma City's construction bidding documents; and correct previous discrepancies and omissions.
