- City Employees: Please apply for all positions via the Opportunity Marketplace in Oracle.

How to Apply
Applying is easy! Just follow these steps:
- Visit Employment | City of OKC and browse available positions.
- Click on a job title to carefully review the full job description and requirements.
- Scroll down and click the “Apply Now” button.
- Enter a valid email address and click “Next” to begin your application.
- Fill out all required fields and click “Submit” at the bottom of the form.
You may upload up to two attachments, such as:
- Resume
- Cover letter
- DD214/NGB Form 22 (Veterans Preference)
- Transcripts
- Certifications or licenses
Helpful Tips
- You may combine multiple documents into one file for uploading.
- Consider drafting your responses to application questions in a Word document first so you can save and edit your work before submitting.
- Be sure to review the job posting carefully before submitting. Only completed applications will be considered.
What Happens After You Apply
Once your application is submitted, we’ll review it to see how your qualifications align with the job requirements/minimum qualifications. To give yourself the best chance, make sure your application is:
- Accurate and up to date
- Detailed with relevant knowledge, skills, education, and experience (including duties)
- Complete to include any required attachments
If you meet the minimum qualifications, you may move forward in the selection process, which could include:
- Practical Tests – Simulate real job tasks
- Written/Online Tests – Measure job-related knowledge
- Assessment Centers – Simulate job scenarios (mainly for professional/executive roles)
- Interview Panels – A group of interviewers ask job-related questions
Final Steps Before Hiring
If you receive and accept a conditional job offer, you may be required (depending on the job) to complete:
- Criminal background check
- Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) fingerprint check
- Drug test
- Physical exam
You can check your application status anytime by logging into your account with your email and password.
