Weekly Trash Pick-Up

The City provides trash, recycling and bulk waste pick-up services to residents across the metro.

Weekly trash pick-up and recycling
Residents can use their Big Blue carts to discard all non-recyclable trash. Simply put your Big Blue cart with lid closed on the easement next to the curb before 6 a.m. on your assigned pick-up day. You can find your pick-up day by looking at your water bill, or at our online pick-up map.

Use your Little Blue bin to recycle general household paper, plastics, glass and aluminum. Like your Big Blue, your Little Blue should be set out at the curbside no later than 6 a.m. on your assigned pick-up day. See our Recycling Page for a complete list of items we can accept in your Little Blue bin. Please refer to the pick-up map to determine whether you have curbside recycling.

Bulk Waste
Bulk waste, including carpets, furniture, appliances* general landscape waste and other specialized items, is picked up monthly. Make sure all bulk waste is placed on the curbside, no later than 6 a.m. on your Bulk Waste pick-up day. Crews make take up to three (3) days to get to the bulk waste, but any and all waste must be put on out the assigned day in order to have it picked up.

*See Bulk Waste page for special instructions on items containing Freon and other coolants.

Where should I place my items to be picked up?
All items for collection should be placed on the easement facing the street. Do not place any item, including the Big Blue cart, in the street. Place items at least 5 feet away from any obstacle, including the mailbox, trees and shrubs, fire hydrants or parked cars. Please do not park where our trucks cannot access your trash or bulky items.

Need another Big Blue?
Call our Customer Contact Center at (405) 297-2833 to order a second Big Blue. There’s no charge for a second cart, but you will be charged for each cart more than two. Call (405) 297-2833 or email water@okc.gov to order one.

Holiday Make-Up Days:
From time to time, a designated City holiday may fall on your trash collection day. If that is the case, we will pick up your trash on the regularly-scheduled make-up day. See our Holiday Pick-Up Schedule for a list of alternative pick-up dates.
