About Bulky Schedule Changes
Beginning March 1, about 64,000 OKC Utilities customers will experience changes to their bulky collection day, week or both. To see if you're impacted, check out the interactive 2026 Bulky Collection Changes Map.
What to know:
- Customers experiencing a collection DAY change will need to set out their bulky waste on their NEW collection day beginning with their March collection.
- Customers whose service will change will receive a postcard in the mail near the end of January. The postcard will specify whether the change is to a customer’s collection day, collection week, or both. It will also provide the first three collection dates beginning with the March collection. Please keep the postcard as the new schedule information will not be reflected on the okcutilities.com online portal and mobile app until March 1.
- Most changes will take place within the City’s central corridor from the South I-240 Service Road north to 122nd Street between May Ave. and Bryant Ave. A few select neighborhoods north of 122nd will also be impacted.
- If your household is not marked for change on the 2026 Bulky Collection Changes Map, your service will remain the same and no action is required on your part.
Why are these changes taking place?
Currently, the City provides roughly 226,000 residential households with bulky waste collection services. The new route changes were made after staff analyzed existing bulky routes to better balance daily landfill loads. Such analyses are conducted every few years to help address route efficiency and ensure optimal use of resources as the city continues to grow. Improving route efficiency also enhances safety by ensuring trucks are out of neighborhoods before peak traffic times.
What the areas shaded with colors indicate:
- Purple: Customers will experience a change to their bulky collection DAY, either Monday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Monday. Their collection WEEK will stay the same.
- Blue: Customers will experience a change to their bulky collection WEEK, although the DAY of the week will remain the same. For example: First Monday of the Month to Third Monday of the Month, or Second Wednesday of the Month to Fourth Wednesday of the Month.
- Orange: Customers will experience both a DAY and WEEK change to their bulky collection service. For example: First Monday to Second Wednesday.
To see if your bulky collection date will change, use the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner of the map below and enter your address. After entering your address, a pop-up box should appear that provides details regarding the specific changes impacting your bulky collection date. Alternatively, you can zoom in to the map until your home becomes visible. Then, click the home icon and the same pop-up box will appear.
As a reminder, only areas covered in purple, blue or orange will experience a change to their bulky collection date.
