Homeowner Rehabilitation Assistance
The City's Housing and Community Development Division manages several programs to help qualifying homeowners with the rehabilitation of their property. These programs are funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and are only available to homeowners in the Oklahoma City limits who meet all program requirements.
PROGRAMS
Home Exterior Maintenance Program
The Home Exterior Maintenance Program (HEMP) helps eligible City of Oklahoma City homeowners (who reside in the home as their primary residence) with exterior housing concerns that violate the City's exterior minimum property standards. This program covers most exterior repairs and offers grant funding up to $24,000 per house for necessary repairs.
Critical Repair Initiative
The Critical Repair Incentive (CRI) program helps eligible City of Oklahoma City homeowners (who reside in the home as their primary residence) with issues that pose health or safety hazards. Homeowners who recently applied with the Community Action Agency and were selected from their approved waiting list will be considered for this program at this time. This program covers services, including leaking roof repair/ replacement, heat and air repair/replacement, water or sewer line replacement, and electrical services.
