Free Landfill Day

The City of Oklahoma City offers two Free Landfill Days each year for residential solid waste customers. These events give OKC Utilities trash customers a convenient way to dispose of bulky household items and extra trash at no cost. Free Landfill Days are typically held in May and SeptemberAll bulky waste rules apply.

Participating Landfills

  • East Oak Landfill - 3201 Mosley Rd.
    (N.E. 36th Street, east of Sooner Rd., south side of street)
  • Oklahoma City Landfill - 7001 S. Bryant Ave.
  • Oklahoma Landfill - 7600 SW 15th St.
  • GFL Landfill - 2601 N. Midwest Blvd., Spencer, OK
    (construction and demolition materials only)

Who Can Participate?

Free Landfill Days are open to Oklahoma City residential trash customers with an active OKC Utilities account. Residents who live outside Oklahoma City limits or who do not receive City trash and recycling services are not eligible. Apartment complexes are considered commercial properties so their residents are not eligible to participate. If you live in a private rental with curbside trash collection services and your trash bill is bundled as part of your rent, you will need to contact your landlord for a copy of the trash bill to present along with your proof of rental or address.

Required Identification

Customers must present:

  • An original, current Oklahoma City trash bill or proof of account using the My OKC Utilities app.

Rental residents may participate but must bring:

  • A copy of an OKC utilities bill showing trash service (contact landlord if you need a copy of the bill)
  • A valid ID matching the service address

Accepted Items

  • Household trash
  • Furniture and bulky items (televisions are accepted)
  • Large appliances (non-Freon or coolants)
  • Bagged leaves and landscape waste
  • DIY construction and demolition debris (GFL landfill only)

Non-Accepted Items

  • Household Hazardous Waste
  • Tires or automotive parts
  • Oils, pool chemicals or propane tanks
  • Car batteries
  • Electronic waste,
  • LED batteries or items containing LED batteries
  • Appliances containing Freon or refrigerants
