Mobile Integrated Healthcare Programs

Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) is made up of four specialized teams that respond to mental and behavioral health needs across Oklahoma City. These teams are designed to deliver the appropriate care — whether over the phone, in person or through long-term support.

Programs

Crisis Call Diversion (CCD)

On-the-line support and mobile dispatch from the 911 Communications Center.

Embedded in the 911 Communications Center, trained CCD mental health professionals triage, assess and respond to mental or behavioral health-related 911 calls by helping stabilize the caller, connecting them with care or dispatching a mobile MIH team.

  • Reduces the need for in-person responses.
  • Connects people with help quickly and efficiently.
  • Dispatches an MIH mobile team if an on-site response is needed.

Crisis Response Team (CRT)

In-person help during a mental health crisis.

CRT is dispatched when someone is experiencing a mental health emergency and may be showing signs of being a risk to themselves or others. They work to de-escalate the crisis and connect the individual with immediate care.

  • May respond with or alongside Crisis Intervention Team (CIT)-trained law enforcement officers.
  • Stabilizes individuals on the scene whenever possible.
  • Links people to follow-up care and long-term support.

Alternative Response Team (ART)

Care and recovery support for overdoses and less acute mental health needs.

ART responds to less acute behavioral health calls and substance use emergencies, including overdoses. They provide immediate treatment and begin the connection to recovery.

  • Offers on-scene care and overdose response.
  • Distributes tools like Narcan to begin treatment.
  • Supports people with recovery follow-up.

Community Advocacy Program (CAP)

Helping frequent 911 callers find lasting solutions.

The CAP team works one-on-one with individuals who frequently call 911 for non-emergency needs and helps connect them to services that can improve their daily life and reduce emergency calls.

  • Builds long-term relationships.
  • Connects residents to housing, food , mobility challenges, medical care and more.
  • Reduces repeated 911 calls by addressing underlying needs.
