A: The home plans must meet or exceed 2021 IECC and ASHRAE 90.1-2019, minimum energy standards the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development adopted in April 2024. Additional details will be published in the Request for Qualifications documents.
A: A third-party energy modeling contractor will evaluate the energy models that provide a 30-year utility bill savings estimate and compare those to the baseline home using theHome Energy Rating System (HERS)score modeled by OKC's minimum design code standards.
A: Ultimately, the goal is to provide consumers a resource that shields them from rising utility costs, an increasingly hotter climate and avoid the havoc extreme weather can wreak on one's home.
