Housing - Revitalize OKC

"Housing is the most fundamental need for our residents, and it's the largest single expense for any family. Though we have a reputation for being affordable, that doesn't mean our city is affordable for everyone. And because we are growing rapidly, that affordability is being challenged. For all these reasons, we need a clear strategy to build more homes, preserve the homes we have, and create neighborhoods where people want to live, work, and raise their families."

— David Holt, Mayor, City of Oklahoma City

Our Housing Goals

Utilizing private, local, state and federal funds, the City has set the following housing goals:

  • Preserve 1,000 units per year through rehabilitation.
  • Build 4,600 new housing units per year, including single-family and multi-family developments.
    • This includes building 800 new units per year for those earning less than 60% of Oklahoma City's Area Median Income (AMI).
  • Assist 100 households annually with financial assistance to buy a home.
