The longer someone experiences homelessness, the more barriers stand between them and stable housing, and the more intervention, time, and cost it takes to help them get there. We're focused on those experiencing chronic, or long-term, homelessness who cycle through the system without a clear path forward. Our Encampment Rehousing Initiative has proven successful in pairing expedited housing with wrap-around case management for the unsheltered population. We're expanding this approach beyond street homelessness to include chronically homeless individuals in shelters, freeing up significant system capacity and shelter beds and improving overall flow through the system.
