Gymnastics

Children, ages 4-14, can participate in a gymnastics course at Southern Oaks Recreation Center, 6818 S. Walker Ave. This program helps kids develop cognitive skills and strong and healthy bones, increases coordination and improves flexibility. Starting Dec. 7 at 6 p.m., this three-session program allows participants to showcase what they’ve learned in a final performance for family and friends. $25/kid, and registration ends Dec. 31.

Adult Birding Walk

Led by retired naturalist Neil Garrison, Martin Nature Park Nature Center, 5000 W. Memorial Rd., is holding its “Adult Birding Walk” at 8 a.m. Dec. 9. If you’re a seasoned birder or just a curious newcomer to birding, this is a great opportunity to take in the beauty of Martin Nature Park and learn more about Oklahoma City’s native birds, their behaviors and characteristics. Grab your binoculars and join us for a morning of birding. This is a free, one-time class. Registration ends Dec. 9 and is intended for guests 18 and up.
