a tree inventory.

A forestry worker inputs tree data for the City's tree inventory

If you visit an Oklahoma City park this summer, you may spy staff from Davey Tree Service evaluating park trees. These workers are conducting a tree inventory for the Oklahoma City Parks & Recreation Department, thanks to a $123,900 gift from the Oklahoma City Community Foundation and Oklahoma Department of Forestry Services. The tree inventory will allow the Parks Department to evaluate the species diversity and health of approximately 20,000 park trees. When complete, parks forestry staff can use the inventory data collected to evaluate our park system’s urban forest, and create standards of care for park trees as well as an ongoing tree succession plan.
