Get ready for severe weather and emergencies at Prepare Fest on Aug 19

Learn how to get organized and protect your family during severe weather and other emergencies at the second annual Prepare Fest on Aug. 19.

The free event, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19 at the Civic Center Music Hall, 201 N Walker Ave., is a free event to learn about severe weather safety, cyber security, insurance and more.

From 10 a.m. to noon, speak with emergency responders and people from social service organizations, and check out the “touch a truck” event with emergency vehicles outside the building.

Seminars from noon to 1 p.m. will cover tornado and earthquake insurance, Oklahoma’s severe weather, NOAA weather radios and cyber security.

Seminar participants will take part in a mock emergency evacuation of the Civic Center Music Hall at 1 p.m.

Free emergency supply kits will be available while supplies last.
