Ready for outdoor fun? Then lace up your sneakers or hop on your bike and enjoy the nearly 100 miles of the City's multi-use trails, plus two off-road cycling facilities.

The Oklahoma City trails system offers recreation and exercise fun along a network of inter-connected trails that can take you to almost every point in the City. Click on our interactive map to see trail locations and distance.

Paved Trails

Bert Cooper Trails (formerly Lake Hefner Trails)

  • Located around Lake Hefner between NW Grand Boulevard and Hefner Road.
  • 9.8 miles of asphalt and concrete multi-use trails
  • A portion of the trails circle the dam road, which is shared by vehicles
  • Amenities: Lake Hefner Golf Course, Stars & Stripes Park, Lions' Children's Park, the Oklahoma City Yacht Club and East Wharf Restaurants. Fishing docks, a remote control aircraft field, boat ramps and picnic areas are also nearby. Portable toilets and water fountains are available around the trails.
  • Parking: Parking is available at Stars & Stripes Park, near the Lions' Children's Park, in the East Wharf Area off of Britton Road and in the north parking lot off of Hefner Road.
  • Connects to: Hefner-Overholser Trail near Britton Road or on the Canal Road west of the lake.

Deep Fork Trail

  • The Deep Fork Trail is being completed in five construction phases. It will ultimately connect the Katy Trail to the east and continue along the Deep Fork River to the Grand Boulevard Trail to the west. Three phases are complete, totaling about 2.9 miles. The $14 million multipurpose trail was funded through the Better Streets, Safer City general obligation bond package.

Earlywine Trail

  • Runs east-west between S Santa Fe / I-35 on SW 104th, then turns south on Pennsylvania Ave to SW 119th, then turns west on SW 119 and terminates at Meridian Ave.
  • Distance: 5.69 miles of on-street and sharrow (shared-lane) trails.
  • Amenities and Parking: Earlywine Park (SW 119th Street and May Avenue), Earlywine Golf Course, South Lakes Park
  • No connections.
  • The Earlywine Trail is not the same as the path inside Earlywine Park, which is for pedestrian use only.

Hefner-Overholser Trail

  • Runs from Britton Road at Lake Hefner Drive to NW 39th Street at Overholser Drive.
  • Trail length: 7.8 miles
  • Most trail is dedicated trail space, with approximately two miles of on-street biking trail. Trail edges along west side of Wiley Post airport.
  • Parking: Lake Hefner and surrounding amenities, Overholser Park
  • Connects to: Bert Cooper Trails, Overholser Trail, West River Trail (via Overholser Trail).

Katy Trail

  • Runs from Washington Park (400 N High Ave) to NE Grand Boulevard up to NE 50th Street and the City's Adventure District, and parallels the old Katy Railway line.
  • Trail length: 7.3 miles
  • Most trail is dedicated trail space, with some on-street bike lanes between NE 36 and NE 50.
  • Amenities and Parking: Washington Park, Douglass Park, Douglass Recreation Center, James E Stewart Golf Course, Lincoln Park Golf Course, Oklahoma State Firefighter's Museum, Oklahoma City Zoo, National Softball Hall of Fame, Remington Park.

Lake Stanley Draper Trail

  • The 13.5-mile Lake Draper Trail loops the lake from which it gets its name in southeast Oklahoma City.
  • The wide, ADA-compliant asphalt trail with a concrete curb line is for walkers, runners and cyclists. Because of the hills along the side of the lake, it has more elevation changes than other trails in Oklahoma City.
  • The trail has four pieces of public art funded by the City’s 1% for Art program. “Booya Car,” is a partially buried classic car on the east side of the trail at SE 119th Street. “Bee 52” is a representation of a bee and of a bomber sometimes seen at nearby Tinker Air Force Base, and it’s on a peninsula on the west side of the lake. Also in near proximity to "Bee 52" is "360 Respite," a unique park bench carved from reclaimed wood. “Convergence,” a sculpture using reclaimed wood, is also on the west side.

Lightning Creek Trail

  • Runs from Oklahoma River to I-240.
  • Trail length: 6.6 miles
  • Consists largely of on-street bicycle lanes.
  • Amenities and Parking: Parking lots at Oliver Park, Draper Park.

Oklahoma River Trails

  • Two trails run from Meridian Avenue (north) and Portland Avenue (south) along Oklahoma River Corridor and the Boathouse Row to I-35.
  • Trail length: 13 miles total (approx 6.5 miles of dedicated trails on north and south banks of Oklahoma River)
  • Amenities and Parking: Parking lots at Oklahoma Boathouse District, Wheeler Park, Wiley Post Park, Mat Hoffman Action Sports Complex, Exchange Ave Bridge, Lincoln Ave Bridge, SW 15 and Portland
  • Connects to: Bricktown Trail (under I-40 Bridge at Chesapeake Boathouse), Katy Trail, West River Trail, Lightning Creek Trail, South Grand Trail.

Overholser Trail

  • Runs from NW 39th Street and Overholser Drive along the east side of Lake Overholser to Overholser Park at NW 10th Street.
  • Trail length: 3.2 miles
  • Amenities and Parking: Overholser Park, Route 66 Boathouse (for canoe and kayak rentals), fishing docks, playground and park pavilion. Route 66 Park is on the west side of Lake Overholser.
  • Connects to: Hefner-Overholser Trail/Hefner Trail (North), West River Trail/Oklahoma River Trails (south).

South Grand Trail

  • Runs from south Oklahoma River Trial (at I-44 east of Dell parking lot) and follows south Grand Boulevard to SW 29th street. Trail crosses I-44 in Woodson Park and continues eastward on SW Grand Boulevard for several miles before crossing under I-35 and then turns north into Trosper Park at SW 29th. It continues north along E Grand Boulevard where it terminates near E Reno Ave.
  • Trail length: 11.1 miles
  • Amenities and Parking: Parking lot at SW 15th Street and Portland Avenue, Tropser Park, Tropser Park Golf Course, Wendel Whisenhunt Sports Complex, Woodson Park
    Connects to: Oklahoma River Trail (south).

Tinker-Draper Trail

  • Runs between the Oklahoma River (at I-40/I-35 junction) and continues to the North side of Lake Stanley Draper.
  • Trail length: 8.5 miles.

West River Trail

  • Runs from NW 10th Street west of Council Road to SW 15th Street at Meridian Avenue.
  • Trail length: 7.5 miles
  • Amenities and Parking: Overholser Park, Crystal Lake
  • Connects to: Oklahoma River Trails (east), Overholser Trail (north).

Will Rogers Trail

  • Runs between the south side of Lake Hefner and the north side of the Oklahoma River.
  • Trail length: 9 miles
  • Amenities: Shelters, bicycle racks, partially lit with LED solar-powered lights.
  • The trail is asphalt with a concrete barrier.
  • Parking: New lot at Will Rogers Park, and one lot along May Avenue on the north side of the Oklahoma River.
  • Connects to: Oklahoma River Trails, Lake Hefner Trails.

Off-Road Trail Facilities

Bluff Creek Park

  • 11301 N Meridian Ave.
  • The trails at Bluff Creek Park provide plenty of technical challenges for the more experienced rider.
  • 3.5 miles of single-track dirt trail, switchbacks and hills, tight turns around trees, exposed tree roots, creeks and ravines, and wood plank cross-overs. 
  • The trails are maintained in cooperation with the Oklahoma Mountain Bike Association.
  • Runners also regularly use the trails so all trail users are asked to be cautious.
  • For the safety of all trail users, dogs must be kept on a leash.
  • Other park amenities include picnic pavilions, a playground, a 1-mile asphalt loop for running or walking (no bicycles on asphalt loop trail) and open field space for soccer, flag football or other sports. The park and pavilions can be rented for large events and activities. Portable toilets and water fountains are also available.

Lake Stanley Draper Mountain Bike Trail

  • SE 89th St. and S Post Road. 
  • Directions: From I-240, take the Douglas exit. Travel north on Douglas to SE 74th Street. Go east one mile to Post Road. Turn south approximately half a mile to the trail entrance. Parking is on the east side of the road.)
  • The Lake Stanley Draper Trail consists of three connecting loops that can be ridden consecutively for a distance of about 12 miles. The level of difficulty ranges from very easy (green loop) to more challenging (yellow loop) to more difficult (red loop).
  • This track features a single-track dirt trail, open sections with varying slopes, bridges and wood plank cross-overs, and technical drops and switchbacks on harder loops (yellow and red).
  • The Lake Stanley Draper mountain bike trail requires a permit which can be purchased at the Marina concession building.

Trail Etiquette

For the safety of all trail users, please abide by the following rules:

  • Multi-use trails are for pedestrian and bicycle traffic only, as well as skate boarding and mobility assistance devices. Horses and unauthorized motorized vehicles are strictly prohibited.
  • Dogs must be leashed at all times. Dogs roaming on trails can present a hazard to other users.
  • Helmets and other protective equipment are recommended at all times.
  • Please be courteous to all other trail users.
  • Keep to the right of the path except when passing.
  • Use a bell or say "to the left" to warn others when you are passing.
  • Slow down when approaching other trail users or street crossings.
  • To prevent injury to yourself and damage to natural resources, please stay on the designated trails.
  • No firearms except as permitted by law.
  • Smoking and lighted tobacco use is prohibited in all City parks and along trails.
  • Fires are prohibited.
  • Please leave plants and animals undisturbed.
  • Please pick up after your dogs. Dog waste stations are available at Bluff Creek Park.
  • Do not litter. Help keep our trails clean.
  • Glass bottles and containers are prohibited.
  • Be aware of trail conditions and proceed with care when conditions are poor, such as wet, snowy, icy or strong winds.
  • Please do not leave ruts in trails.
  • Do not block trail. Groups need to move to the right or form a single line.
  • Please use proper lights on bicycles front and rear, and/or light-colored clothing at night.
  • Do not use trails while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • No unauthorized motor vehicles allowed on the trails.
  • Trail users are responsible for knowing and following trail guidelines. Parents, please educate your children on these guidelines.
