The community is invited to an info session featuring mental health experts and community leaders in a panel discussion focusing on mental health programs, services and resources in Oklahoma City.
Presented by the OKC Public Safety Partnership, the Mental Health Info Session will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, at Oklahoma City University’s Sarkeys Science and Math Center, 2501 N. Blackwelder. The event is open to the public, and there is no cost to attend.
The info session will be moderated by Assistant City Manager Jason Ferbrache. Panelists include:
- Andrea Grayson, OKC Public Safety Partnership Implementation Manager
- Lori Brown-Loftis, OKCFD Mobile Integrated Healthcare Program Manager
- Lori Osborn, OKCPD Crisis Intervention Team Training Coordinator
- Jessica Hawkins, Healthy Minds Policy Initiative
Event attendees will have the chance to explore mental health resources and services available in the community.
“Mental health challenges can happen to anyone, and we hope residents will join us to learn more about some of the crucial mental health-related services, programs and resources available through the City and other providers in our community,” said Andrea Grayson, OKC Public Safety Partnership Implementation Manager. “May is recognized nationally as Mental Health Awareness Month, so there is no better time to share with the community the ways we’re working to develop alternative response to 911 calls related to behavioral or mental health needs like the Oklahoma City Fire Department’s newly launched Mobile Integrated Healthcare.”
Registration is encouraged, but not required, for the event. Residents can register on the OKC Public Safety Partnership page at OKC.gov. Translation services will be available during the event for ASL as well as Spanish and Vietnamese languages.
The OKC Public Safety Partnership is a collaboration among community stakeholders, city officials, elected leaders, law enforcement and residents to advance public safety for the Oklahoma City community.
