Ward 2 Councilman to host faith-based forum on homelessness, housing

Community leaders, faith-based organizations and residents are invited to attend a Faith-Based Forum on Homelessness and Housing on Thursday, April 30, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the City Council Chamber on the third floor of City Hall, 200 N. Walker Ave.

Hosted by Ward 2 Councilman James Cooper, this forum brings together the faith community and local leaders to address one of Oklahoma City’s most urgent challenges: homelessness and the growing shortage of affordable housing.

Attendees will learn about the Key to Home Partnership, a collaborative public-private partnership designed to create lasting solutions for people experiencing homelessness. The forum will also highlight the City’s affordable housing efforts and challenges affecting residents, including rising rents, limited housing supply and stagnant wages.

“Oklahoma City is making meaningful progress in addressing homelessness, but is still facing a critical housing shortage,” Councilman Cooper said. “The faith community plays a vital role in creating meaningful, lasting change, and this forum is an opportunity to come together, share ideas and build partnerships to make a real impact in our community.”

The event will also feature a spotlight on a faith-based organization making an impact in another Oklahoma community, offering inspiration and actionable insights for local efforts.

Organizers are calling on faith leaders and community members to not only attend but to actively engage, share perspectives and explore partnership opportunities.
