A new cellphone waiting area was opened to the public today at Will Rogers World Airport. This will provide a significantly larger area for drivers to park and wait for their arriving passengers and compliments the existing cellphone waiting areas. The new area is located on SW 67th Street directly across from the control tower and is less than one minute from the terminal building.
Over the last year, the airport has seen a steady growth in drivers utilizing the cellphone waiting areas. Much of the growth can be attributed to the fact that there is no parking, waiting or leaving unattended vehicles in the lanes in front of the terminal building. These lanes are strictly for active passenger loading and unloading. The cellphone waiting areas allow people to wait in their vehicles until their party calls to let them know they are at the curb and ready for pick up.
Drivers can also take advantage of the hourly parking garage where the first hour is free. This allows those meeting friends and family to come inside the terminal to greet their party and assist with luggage.
There is no charge to utilize the cell phone waiting areas.
See the map below for the cellphone waiting area locations.
