OKC Utilities continues to investigate reports of discolored water and closely monitor the Draper water distribution system.

“We received fewer customer calls today than Monday, which is an encouraging sign, and have seen improvement in parts of the service area,” said Utilities Director Chris Browning. “However, customers in some areas may continue to notice discoloration.”

Utilities appreciates customers reporting their locations, as that information is helping to pinpoint where discoloration is occurring. Utilities Water Quality staff are continuing to adjust treatment and operations to restore the water to its normal clear appearance.

The Department is regularly communicating with the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality as it monitors and responds to the issue. The water remains safe to drink and meets all drinking water quality standards. The discoloration is an aesthetic issue and does not affect the water’s safety.

Customers who continue to experience discolored water should contact OKC Utilities Customer Service at 405-297-2833 so the location can be documented and evaluated.
