The Overlook Restaurant & Pub expands outdoor dining at Earlywine Golf
Published on October 29, 2026
The Overlook Restaurant & Pub at Earlywine Golf Club is expanding its outdoor dining experience with the opening of a new patio on October 29. Located beside the club's covered hitting pavilion and the ninth hole of its South Course, the addition makes it easier for golfers to grab a meal while practicing at the driving range or making the turn during a round.
Located at 11600 S. Portland Ave., The Overlook Restaurant & Pub is bringing many of its scratch-made burgers, sandwiches, salads, and other favorites outdoors. The new patio offers a menu focused on quality, casual dining, providing convenient service for golfers and another welcoming place for the public to enjoy a meal. The outdoor dining area welcomed its first guests during a soft opening on October 26.
The expansion marks the completion of Earlywine Golf Club's $12.5 million clubhouse project, funded through the voter-approved 2007 and the Better Streets, Safer City General Obligation Bond programs. The project included the new clubhouse, which opened in 2024, and concludes with the addition of outdoor dining to serve golfers and the community.
“When residents invest in their public spaces, we want them to see and experience the benefits,” said Melinda McMillan-Miller, director of Oklahoma City Parks & Recreation. “This expansion is an example of how we're putting voter-approved investments to work, creating places where families, friends, and neighbors can gather. You don't have to play golf to feel welcome here.”
For Dan Langford, who has served as Earlywine's director of golf for 30 years, the same commitment to quality that shapes the golf experience extends to The Overlook Restaurant & Pub.
“We don't want to be known for having good golf course food. We want to be known for having great food, period,” Langford said. “We've built a restaurant worth visiting on its own. The new patio brings that same quality closer to golfers on the course and at the driving range, while giving the surrounding community another place to enjoy it.”
The outdoor dining area sits beside Earlywine's covered hitting pavilion, which features 24 hitting bays, stadium-style lighting for evening use, and heaters for cooler weather. Comfortable seating, including chairs and couches, gives visitors a place to relax while others practice.
The driving range is a popular destination for more than golf practice, with visitors studying, working remotely, and spending time with family while others hit balls. Golfers hit over 4.5 million balls at Earlywine's driving range in the City’s 2026 fiscal year.
The success of Earlywine's covered hitting pavilion has helped shape improvements planned at Lake Hefner Golf Club, another OKC Golf course, where a new covered driving range is included in the facility's Phase II upgrades, funded through the City's 2017 and 2025 Bond programs.
With range tokens priced at $4.25 for 30 balls, visitors can grab a bite and a cold beverage, hit a bucket of balls, and enjoy an affordable evening out.
The Overlook Patio is located at Earlywine Golf Club, 11600 S. Portland Ave., Oklahoma City.
