OKC Utilities Line Maintenance crews are repairing a 20-inch water main east of May Avenue on West Britton Road.
The eastbound and westbound lanes of Britton are temporarily closed between Village Drive and Oxford Way while crews remove mud from the roadway. Cleanup is expected to be completed by 11 a.m., when both lanes will reopen. Eastbound traffic will then be narrowed to create a safety work zone while repairs are underway. Detours are in place, and drivers are encouraged to avoid the area if possible.
At this time, nearby customers should experience little to no impact to their water service.
Officials anticipate repairs to the water main will be completed by 3 p.m. Lane closures will remain in place until repairs are finished.
