Approximately 64,000 Oklahoma City Utilities customers will see changes to their bulky waste collection schedule when the Utilities Department rolls out new service routes beginning March 1, 2026.

Most changes will take place within the city’s central corridor from the South I-240 Service Road north to 122nd Street between May Avenue and Bryant Avenue, with a select few impacted neighborhoods north of 122nd.

To help inform customers, the City has created an interactive, color-coded map at okc.gov/mytrashday. The map provides information on whether customers will see a change to their bulky collection day, week or both. To use the map, an address can be entered into the search bar, and details of any changes will be listed.

In addition to the map, customers experiencing a change will receive notice of their change via postcard in late January. Customers should keep their postcard handy as it will reflect their new bulky collection schedule, including their specific dates for March, April and May.

Starting March 1, those impacted will begin to see their new schedule reflected on their bill and in their portal account on okcutilities.com and the mobile app. Until then, the existing bulky schedule will remain listed.

Currently, the City provides roughly 226,000 residential households with bulky waste collection services. The new route changes were made after staff analyzed existing bulky routes to better balance daily landfill loads. Such analyses are conducted every few years to help address route efficiency and ensure optimal use of resources as the city continues to grow. Improving route efficiency also enhances safety by ensuring trucks are out of neighborhoods before peak traffic times.

Customers are encouraged to review their new collection dates online as soon as possible to prepare for the new timing of their bulky pickup. As always, customers should set all bulky items out at the curb no later than 6 a.m. on their assigned collection day and should not set out items more than three days prior to their collection date. The City’s bulky waste schedule works in three-day blocks starting each Monday and Wednesday, beginning with the first Monday of the month. Crews have up to three days to collect items set at the curbside.
