Will Rogers World Airport (WRWA) saw another record month this year with passenger traffic. For September, OKC had 373,049 passengers, which is 9.7% higher than 2022 and 4.03% higher than the previous record set in September 2019.
“The strong summer travel season at OKC continued into September as evidenced by our record passenger numbers,” said Jeff Mulder, Director of Dept. of Airports. "The expanded service to Florida this fall with more non-stop flights to Orlando and Miami will help keep the growth trend climbing.”
WRWA receives daily throughput numbers from TSA, and they remain steady at an average of 6,770 people passing through security. The busiest day to fly out of OKC is Thursdays, with a daily number of 8,000 going through TSA. The forecast for fourth-quarter passenger numbers looks good, and WRWA is on pace to outperform 2019 with over 4 million flying in and out of OKC.
