The City of Oklahoma City has $3 million in low-interest Brownfields loans available to help developers and nonprofit organizations clean up contaminated land within the City limits.
Brownfields are underused properties that may have environmental contaminants that complicate their redevelopment. Funding for Brownfields loans is available through the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Developers can get more information by calling 405-297-1766.
Brownfields loans have helped spark over $1.9 billion in public and private development in OKC. A few of the developments include the First National Center, Scissortail Park and Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) in Capitol Hill.
"These loans help property owners who did not cause the environmental issues to revitalize important sites in our inner city," Brownfields Planner Amanda Alewine said.
