OKC’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center closed May 14

Oklahoma City’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center will be closed for maintenance and staff training on Thursday, May 14, and will reopen on Friday, May 15.

The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center at 1621 S. Portland Ave. accepts a variety of hazardous materials from residents’ homes year-round. Products accepted at the center include gasoline, automotive fluids, batteries, pesticides, weed killers, swimming pool chemicals, and paint-related products.

The center’s hours are Tuesday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center is operated by the Storm Water Quality Management Division of the Public Works Department. Visit okc.gov/hhw for a list of materials the center accepts. For more information, call 405-682-7038.
