OKC Will Rogers International Airport announced today a major expansion of its air service network, bringing the airport’s total number of nonstop destinations to 29.
United Airlines is launching year-round nonstop service from OKC to San Francisco (SFO). Tickets are on sale now, with the first flight scheduled to take off on March 28, 2027.
“We’re excited to expand our network in Oklahoma with nonstop daily service between Oklahoma City and San Francisco next year,” said Mark Weithofer, Managing Director of Domestic Network Planning at United. “This route opens up seamless connectivity between the two regions, helping travelers conveniently reach the Bay Area and, from there, destinations around the world through United’s leading global network in San Francisco.”
This critical connection to the West Coast gives Oklahoma City business and leisure travelers direct access to a premier global tech hub and major international gateway, cutting travel times and expanding connectivity.
“Nonstop service to San Francisco links OKC to a dynamic metro, as well as the center of the nation’s tech economy,” Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt said. “Along with other recent nonstop additions, our airport service continues to improve, a reflection of the hard work of our airport team and our city’s continued growth.”
This new route builds on United’s existing service from OKC, including direct flights to United’s hubs in Denver, Houston and Chicago.
"We want to extend our sincere thanks to United for making these deep investments in Oklahoma City, said Jeff Muler, Director of Airports.” “Adding these vibrant new destinations, especially the crucial connection to San Francisco, greatly strengthens our community's economic ties and gives our residents more freedom to travel efficiently. We look forward to continuing these strong airline partnerships to serve our growing region."
“Air service is a critical component of economic development, and every new nonstop connection makes Oklahoma an even more attractive place to visit, live, and do business,” Grayson Ardies, executive director of the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics said. “These expanded routes strengthen our connections to major business markets, bring new visitors to our state, and support the local businesses and tourism destinations that contribute to Oklahoma’s growing economy. As our aerospace and defense industry continues to expand, greater connectivity will be essential to sustaining that momentum.”
The growth follows a highly active year of air service development meetings and strategic negotiations with major carriers. Travelers can begin booking flights for the upcoming travel seasons immediately.
