People aged 16 and up looking for a fun summer job with competitive pay are encouraged to attend a hiring fair from 1:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, at Willa D. Johnson Recreation Center, 909 Frederick Douglass Ave.
OKC Parks is hiring pool cashiers, lifeguards and recreation leaders.
"We are excited to welcome new employees to our team as we gear up for summer," Recreation Program Coordinator Jamie Ewart said. "We are proud to offer competitive pay and hiring incentives to attract top talent."
Salaries for cashiers start at $12.50 per hour and pay for lifeguards starts at $13 and $15 per hour, depending on experience. Lifeguards can also qualify for a hiring bonus and incentive pay. The City’s goal is to hire 100 employees to work at five pools and 12 recreation sites.

Those interested in becoming a lifeguard are encouraged to bring their swimsuit and a towel to the hiring event and take a basic swim test as a part of their interview. Prior lifeguarding experience not required. Applicants will receive free training, and those who pass the tests will receive their certification.
Those who don’t pass the tests will be considered for other pool positions.
