Oklahoma City's five municipal golf courses welcomed more golfers than ever before during Fiscal Year 2026, setting a record of 370,661 rounds played between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026.
The five City-owned golf courses include Earlywine, Trosper, Hefner, Lincoln Park and James E. Stewart.
The milestone represents a system-wide increase of 42,532 rounds (13%) over the previous fiscal year and is the highest annual total ever recorded across the Oklahoma City public golf system.
Every course experienced year-over-year growth, with Lincoln Park leading the system as the busiest course, hosting 97,765 rounds.
The increase reflects growing participation in golf and the value Oklahoma City's public courses provide as affordable places to play, learn and connect.
"Golf is one of the many ways Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation helps improve quality of life for our residents," said Melinda McMillan-Miller, director of Oklahoma City Parks & Recreation. "These record-breaking numbers show that people are looking for affordable ways to spend time outdoors and stay active. Whether someone is picking up a golf club for the first time or has been playing for decades, our municipal golf courses welcome players of every age and skill level.”
OKC Golf hosts a variety of local, regional and statewide tournaments throughout the year, including high school state championships, collegiate championships, Oklahoma State Amateur qualifiers, city championships and other competitive events that bring visitors and economic activity to Oklahoma City.
"Public golf has always been about bringing people together," said LeeAnne Fairlie, chair of the Oklahoma City Golf Commission and a 2012 inductee into the Oklahoma Golf Hall of Fame. "For generations, these courses have introduced young people to the game, created lifelong friendships, and provided places where friends and families can make memories together. Seeing record participation is exciting because it shows more people are discovering everything Oklahoma City municipal golf courses have to offer."
