Last call! Preserve your OKC Fair Park memories in time capsule
Published on November 20, 2025
The City of Oklahoma City is issuing a final call for the public to submit cherished photos and memories from the Oklahoma State Fair or other OKC Fair Park events to be permanently sealed in a time capsule at the base of the newly completed landmark sculpture “Bolt Tower.”
The monumental 72-foot-tall “Bolt Tower” was commissioned by the City of Oklahoma City and substantially completed before this year’s state fair. The final details of the installation are nearly complete, including the addition of a pedestrian plaza and the time capsule at its base, which will store these community memories for future generations.
What photos are needed?
Oklahoma residents, visitors and fairgoers have a final opportunity to contribute their historical and memorable photos of OKC Fair Park’s 118-year history, including livestock shows, 89er games, concerts, sporting events, the monorail, the space tower and more—to be placed in the time capsule before it is sealed in early December.
