From Bricktown to Blizzardtown: Help name OKC’s snowplow fleet
Published on October 06, 2026
Winter is coming, and the City of Oklahoma City is getting its snowplows ready to keep streets moving. But before the 34-plow fleet hits the road, the City needs help naming each snowplow.
Residents can submit fun, clever and uniquely Oklahoma City-inspired names for the City's snowplow fleet at vision.okc.gov/snowplows.
From local landmarks and neighborhoods to sports, food, history, culture and snowy wordplay, people are encouraged to show off what makes OKC special.
Name ideas could be inspired by:
- OKC landmarks and attractions
- The Thunder and local sports
- Oklahoma pride and Route 66
- OKC's food scene
- Arts, culture and entertainment
- OKC neighborhoods and districts
- Snowy puns and clever wordplay
Submit snowplow names by Oct. 16 for a chance to have their idea officially selected as one of the 34 names in the City's snowplow fleet.
Snowplow names will be announced on Wednesday, Oct. 21, via the City's social media accounts and vision.okc.gov/snowplows.
Once winter weather arrives, residents will also be able to watch the City's snowplows with an online map. The map will show where snowplows have operated, share winter driving tips and give residents a way to check snow route status.
Keep an eye out this winter. Your snowplow name could be spotted clearing snow and ice from OKC snow routes.
