Enjoy a Free Day of Fall Fun at OKC Animal Welfare’s DOGtober Festival

Published on October 19, 2026

Oklahoma City Animal Welfare (OKCAW) invites the community to enjoy a free, family-friendly day of fall festivities at its annual DOGtober Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Earlywine Park pavilion, 3033 SW 119th St.

Families can enjoy a variety of free activities, including a pet costume parade and contest at noon, face painting, arts and crafts for children, and trick-or-treating for dogs.

The festival will also feature a low-cost vaccine clinic provided by Angel Fund OKC, giving pet owners access to affordable preventive care. Attendees can connect with local animal rescues and community organizations to learn about available resources, services and ways to support pets in the community. Local pet-related vendors and service providers will also be on-site, along with food trucks.

“DOGtober Fest is a celebration of the animals we love and the community that supports them,” said Johny Sandoval, Animal Welfare Superintendent. “By bringing together local nonprofits and pet-related businesses, we're creating an opportunity for residents to connect with the organizations that make a difference for animals in Oklahoma City. We're excited to welcome families and their pets for an extremely fun day while also helping some of our adoptable dogs find loving homes.”

Join OKC Animal Welfare for a day of fall fun and opportunities to celebrate pets while connecting with organizations that help keep the community's animals healthy and cared for.
