Council confirms new, returning Public Safety Advisory Board Members

During the Aug. 4 Council meeting, Oklahoma City Mayor Holt appointed and the City Council confirmed the appointment of Steve Le to represent Ward 2 on the Community Public Safety Advisory Board as well as the reappointments of CPSAB members Gregory Grimaud for Ward 1, Kenny Liles for Ward 3, Christopher Foshee for Ward 5 and Kenneth Morgan for Ward 7.
"Since the CPSAB’s formation in 2024, our volunteer members have worked together to ensure a space where residents’ feedback and concerns about public safety can be heard as well as to affect positive change in public safety policies – all while building community trust," said Andrea Grayson, Implementation Manager for the OKC Public Safety Partnership. “The reappointments and filling of the Ward 2 seat give us an opportunity to continue in this important work.”
In addition to reviewing the complaint investigative process, each board member hosts an info session in their respective ward to educate residents on the board’s purpose, activities and accomplishments. Representing Ward 6, CPSAB member Richard Sturt hosted his ward’s info session in 2025.
“While each board member has an individual perspective, we have come a long way in our ability to evaluate the cases and discuss our viewpoints and recommendations while remaining focused on enhancing public safety for all residents,” said Sturt. “However, there is much work to be done. I hope residents will attend an info session this year and learn more about the work of the board.”
Le replaces previous CPSAB Ward 2 member Nicole Maldonado, who resigned in late 2025.
“This board provides a meaningful function of giving residents a way to provide feedback about interactions with public safety officers which, in turn, improves public safety for all residents – no matter what area of Oklahoma City,” said Le. “I’m honored to serve with my fellow board members and represent Ward 2.”
The Community Public Safety Advisory Board serves as a permanent, independent committee in Oklahoma City that reviews the complaint investigative process and results of completed department investigations involving Oklahoma City Public Safety Officers. The board is a product of the Public Safety Partnership. The creation of the board was one of 39 recommendations included in the report received by City Council in March 2022 to enhance public safety for all residents. The work of the board and public info sessions address two more recommendations from the report.
