The community is invited to attend “Cookout with Cops,” a free community event hosted by Neighborhood Alliance of Central Oklahoma, the Oklahoma City Police Department and Calle Dos Cinco.

The event is from noon to 4 p.m. on April 11 at Plaza Calle Dos Cinco, SW 25th and S. Harvey Ave. Free food and refreshments will be served from noon to 2 p.m. Activities include a custom car show, family-friendly games, community resources and information about neighborhood safety.

“Cookout with Cops” is the latest in a series of events designed to bring communities and OKC police officers together in a relaxed atmosphere to eat, meet and connect.

“Events like ‘Cookout with Cops’ help bring people together,” said Myron Mayberry, NACOK Executive Director. “It’s a great opportunity to connect the community to OKCPD officers in their neighborhoods, which encourages open dialogue, builds trust, and creates a welcoming space outside of traditional settings.”

The event is free and open to the public.

“Building strong relationships with the people we serve is one of the most important parts of our job,” said OKCPD Chief Ron Bacy. “Cookout with Cops gives our officers and residents a chance to meet, talk, and connect in a positive setting. These kinds of interactions help strengthen trust in our community.”

For more information about “Cookout with Cops” or to learn how to volunteer or support the event, please contact Neighborhood Alliance of Central Oklahoma at (405) 528-6322.
