To commemorate Leap Day, Thursday, Feb. 29, Oklahoma City Animal Welfare is reducing all adoption dog and cat adoption fees to $29. Help OKC Animal Welfare leap forward to reach its goal of saving 600 lives this month.
Dogs 40 pounds and over are eligible for a fee-waived adoption. All adoptable animals are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. The OKC Animal Shelter, located at 2811 SE 29th St., is open for adoptions from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.
"We are so close to hitting our goal of 600 adoptions this month," OKC Animal Welfare Superintendent Jon Gary said. "It’s important we finish the month strong and get our dog capacity down to a more manageable level."
This year provides us with an extra day to find loving homes for the animals at the shelter. Together as a community, we can leap into action and save 600 lives in February.
