Artist Bio

A self-taught artist and musician from childhood, Wesley learned to draw by sketching cartoons and illustrations as a child. Over the years, Wesley independently cultivated his passions for the arts through textbooks, studying old masters, trial and error, attending figure drawing classes, and undergoing a wealth of research and experimentation. These days, his tools include charcoal, pencil, oil paint, acrylic paints, photography, videography and other digital tools such as laptops, iPads, and photo and video editing software.

Wesley’s vibrant paintings are created by contrasting saturated colors alongside deep shadows to elicit strong emotions in his work. Most of his subjects' center around music, musicians, and performers in action. His most notable works are inspired by his colleagues in music and performance. “CHANGO” (Oil on Canvas 24”x36”, 2019). “Keys” (Acrylic on Canvas 48”x48”, 2020), “Current Jazz” (Oil on Canvas, 36”x24”, 2019)

Wesley work has won awards in competitions and expositions from elementary throughout college (Oklahoma State University BS, Biological Science, 2016), and despite majoring in biology Wesley continued to foster his knowledge of art alongside university.

After graduating, Wesley moved to Oakland, California and then Sea Ranch in the Mendocino Coast where he continued to produce work, exhibit in galleries and book portrait commissions in many cities across the state of California: California Native Arts Expo (2018), National Art In The Redwoods (2021), 29th Studio Discovery Tour (2021), and more.

In February 2022, Wesley moved back to Oklahoma where he is collaborating with local businesses to showcase work, live paint events and recently, promoting local artists and musicians through his podcast, Integrated OKC, while inching closer to the heart of the art world as it is in Oklahoma City today.
