Phil Proctor is an Atlanta based professional sculptor. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from East Carolina University. Proctor is founder and owner of Nucleus Sculpture Studio in South Atlanta where he designs and fabricates his large-scale sculptures and public art works. Nucleus Sculpture Studio also works to consult, design, engineer, fabricate and install the works of other professional artists. Proctor’s temporary and permanent outdoor sculptures can be found across the United States and internationally through his exhibitions and public or private commissions.

Title: The Shape of Time And Water Category: Visual Art Genre: Sculpture Description:2023 Salvaged bridge components, board formed concrete Rogers Bridge Park, Duluth, Georgia The sculpture is composed of 120 year old steel from the historic Rogers Bridge and is meant to represent the water as it embraces the bridge column. This constant and boundless interaction between earth and water brings the river to life. The sculpture is also a literal passageway. It is a symbol that represents the connection between two places; the driving force for the restoration of the new bridge and the partnership of the communities it connects. This composition is anchored through two massive cast concrete columns which were inspired by many of the stone and concrete bridge columns along the Chattahoochee River.
