Artist Bio

Maddie Sanders, known as Holatte (ho-lah-tee), is a Mvskoke & Mojave artist from Tahlequah, Oklahoma. "Holatte," meaning "blue" in Mvskoke, reflects her deep connection to the sky, water, and natural elements, which inspires her work.

Maddie specializes in murals and graphic design. Her vibrant, large-scale murals are displayed across Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, and California. Beyond murals, she works in public installations, curation, and jewelry-making, with her art exhibited in U.S. and European museums.

Her art fuses southeastern symbolism, vibrant colors, and bold designs, all rooted in her passion for celebrating and preserving Indigenous culture.
