Artist Bio

LaQuincey is a figurative sculptor who lives and works in Oklahoma. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BFA in studio art and is an Elected Member of the National Sculpture Society. He has been commissioned to complete works for the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma Baptist University, Southwestern Oklahoma State University, the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center in Duncan, OK, the Oklahoma State Capitol and other institutions. His work was part of South Carolina’s Brookgreen Gardens’ exhibit on Emerging Stars in American Sculpture and is an annual exhibitor at the Buffalo Bill Art Show in Cody, Wyoming. Currently, he is the artist in residence at the Skirvin Hilton hotel where he is working on life size sculpture of Clara Luper as part of the Clara Luper Sit-In Plaza Monument. This monument is dedicated to the first sit-ins in Oklahoma and will be installed on the original site of Katz Drug Store where Clara Luper and her students started the sit-ins.
