As the federal government shutdown continues and the funding for SNAP is suspended, more Oklahoma City residents face uncertainty. Although the City of Oklahoma City does not operate food pantries or provide direct financial assistance, we have compiled a list of resources available to those in need.
Denise Duong is an artist from Oklahoma City. She creates narratives with her work and it navigates into stories within stories. Her murals can be seen from Kerala, India, Medellin, Columbia, to Durham, NC, and many places in Oklahoma City. She owns a gallery in the Paseo Arts District that displays works of mostly Oklahoma artist, but also shows many artists from around the country. Duong paints murals and works on canvas, along with creating large sculpture with her art and life partner Gabriel Friedman. She has created art installations in the Science Museum and at 21c Museum Hotel.
