As the federal government shutdown continues and the funding for SNAP is suspended, more Oklahoma City residents face uncertainty. Although the City of Oklahoma City does not operate food pantries or provide direct financial assistance, we have compiled a list of resources available to those in need.
Raised in the boonies, 24-year-old artist Blake Murphy gobbled his way to Oklahoma City with a hunger for art, coffee, and culture. His fondest memories as a child involve playing Pac-Man on his dad’s desktop, 6AM car jam sessions to Grandma’s house, and countless hours spent doodling, coloring, and crafting! Finding alternative artistic avenues has strengthened Blake’s passion for creativity. He finds influence through nature, pop culture, music, and vibrancy. Although the process is different for every project, Blake mainly uses design programs such as Procreate, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to bring his ideas to life. Some works begin in more raw forms, like colored pencil or Copic markers and later evolve into hybrid media pieces.
