Lake Hefner Golf Club is home to two 18-hole courses, a three-hole academy course and a driving range, all flanking Lake Hefner in northwest Oklahoma City. Both of the 18-hole golf courses are dotted by water hazards as well as bunkered fairways and greens. Although challenging to even the most experienced golfer, golfers of all ages and skills will enjoy Lake Hefner Golf Club:
- The North Course: The North Course was designed by Randy Heckenkemper and stretches to just under 7000 yards from the black tees with a rating of 73.8.
- The South Course: The South Course, designed by Floyd Farley, is the shorter of the two and measures at just over 6300 yards from its blue tees and a rating of 70.5.
Maxwell's on the Lake
Maxwell's on the Lake is a full-service restaurant and bar on the second floor of the Lake Hefner Golf Club Clubhouse. Perry Maxwell was a legendary golf course architect who lived in Ardmore and designed courses throughout the state and across the country. He earned the title “father of Oklahoma golf” from his work designing and remodeling dozens of Oklahoma courses, including the first iteration of the North Course at Lake Hefner Golf Club. Perry Maxwell was a founding member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects and a member of the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame.
Alsie's Corner
Alsie's Corner is the grab-and-go restaurant on the first floor of the Lake Hefner Golf Club Clubhouse. It's named in memory of Alsie Gentry "Poppie" Hyden. He was the director of golf at Lake Hefner Golf Course from 1966 to 2023, dedicating 57 years to learning and teaching the game. He passed away in December 2025.

Greg Warren, PGA
Greg is a longtime PGA Member and has successfully helped thousands of students improve from beginners to tour players. He was named the 2002 South Central PGA Teacher of the Year.

Jason Payne
Jason is currently an assistant golf professional at Trosper Golf Club and has been for the past two years. He is a PGA Associate seeking his Class A PGA Membership. Jason has nine years of experience teaching golf, five at Central Middle School in Lawton. He has also taught many Army servicemen and veterans during his time in the Army. Jason has been playing golf for more than 20 years and is always striving to better himself as a player and teacher.
Lesson Rate: $75 for adults and $50 for juniors
John Folsom, PGA
A PGA member with over 30 years of teaching experience, John specializes in basic foundation skills for players of all abilities. John loves to teach all ages and skill levels and incorporates golf training aids and video software as needed. Lesson programs include individual and group lessons, as well as junior and adult clinics with wel- rounded instruction on the game of golf and golf etiquette.
Lesson Rates: $65 for adults and $55 for juniors
Ken Tate, PGA
Ken has been teaching at Lake Hefner Golf Club since 2003, and enjoys teaching students of all ages and skill levels, while having fun.
