Each year Open Enrollment provides you an opportunity to change plans and modify dependent coverage. Changes made during Open Enrollment become effective January 1, 2020 and will remain in effect through the plan year (January 1, 2020 - December 31, 2020). 

On-Site Enrollment will be Monday, October 21st to Thursday, October 24th, at the Civic Center in the Hall of Mirrors from 8 am to 5 pm.  Representatives from the medical, dental, vision, and other benefit plans offered will be on site to answer any questions.

Other Important Dates

Prior to September 1 – If you have recently moved and not updated your address with Employee Benefits, please complete the Change of Address form and submit to Employee Benefits.  This will ensure that you receive important information regarding your benefits along with Open Enrollment materials and confirmation of your elections.

Early October- Open Enrollment packet mailed.  You will receive a new Retiree Guide to Benefits along with an election form for the new plan year.

October 31st – Deadline for changes to be received by Employee Benefits

Early November -  Confirmation Statements mailed.  This is confirmation of your elections for the new plan year.  Please review and notify Employee Benefits immediately of any changes or corrections.

November 15th – Deadline to notify Employee Benefits of any changes or corrections to your benefit elections.

December 20 – After this date to the end of the year, new ID Cards should begin arriving.  New ID cards will only be sent if there is a change to your elections or a plan design change to your current plan. 

January 1st – New Plan Year begins

End of January – Changes in premium rates will be reflected on your pension check.

Additional Important Dates for Police Retirees

Early December – Employee Benefits will mail a Police Pension Deduction Change form to retirees that made a change to their elections.  This form will need to be completed and submitted to Police Pension anytime a change is made to your coverage.  Otherwise, police pension will continue to send an incorrect amount for your premiums.  A copy of the form is located under Forms on the main page.

January 15 – Deadline to submit Police Pension Deduction Change form for Open Enrollment changes.  As a reminder, premiums for your insurance are deducted in arrears.
