Cast members in costumeDance, acting, singing and more are all part of the fun and fantasy with the Parks and Recreation Department's Performing Arts programs. Classes and camps are offered year-round for all age groups and abilities. No experience necessary!

 


Fairy Tales cast on stageBudding stars love our spring and summer break day camps boys and girls ages 6-17. Campers can sing, dance, act and learn basic stage movement in preparation for an end-of-camp family performance.

NW Optimist Performing Arts Day Camp

Three 2-week sessions available

June 13-24               Rapunzel                                                 For ages 6-17
June 27-July 8           Snow White and Too Many Dwarves            For ages 6-17
July 11-22                The Apple Tree                                        For ages 11-17

Camps run 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday - Friday
Cost: $190 / two-week session

Final performance at 5:30 on the last Friday of each session.

Backstage Magic – Technical Theater Camp

Learn skills of the backstage theater trade perfect for the tech or camera whiz in the family. Campers will start each day with a company meeting, then assist in the production and set-up of a performing arts day camp musical. Campers will also film the final production.

Camp runs 8:30 – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and campers are asked to bring a sack lunch.
